Our First Gallery Exhibition
Announcement: Our First Gallery Exhibition

Date: 23/03/2017 Full Day (no need for you to stand beside your photo all the day)

Place: Al-Salam Tower Ground Floor

You probably have a stockpile of photos that you’ve made. But let me ask you a question, have any of them seen the light of day? Of course, you have a Flickr account, and you always upload your photos to Facebook. But have you thought about taking it to the next level?

We will make this opportunity available for you. We are preparing to execute photo exhibition as it is one of our long-waited plans in du Photography Club. A photos gallery where all members will get a chance to print and present thier beautiful work. We  believe displaying your work to the public is great way to get your name out in the community. It’s also the best way to improve your confidence as an artist. We in this du photography club under the strict opinion that art is meant to be consumed. Photography is art, therefore it doesn’t do any good to keep it locked up on a hard drive.

How it work?

We will help on printing, framing and presenting the photos. Every member can print at least 1 photo. However we request you to submit your best 3 photos. Depending on the quantities we receive we will decide whether we will print 1 or 2 or the 3 photos. You can submit you photos to us from here:

(Allowed file format: jpg, png, psd, ai, cr2 & raw)

Option#1: Free printing & framing.

We have a very limited budget that will be paid for top 10 Photos which will be selected as follow:

  • All members will submit their 3 photos as mentioned above.
  • The committee will nominate the best 20 photos. (to give the benefit of the doubt, Photos from the committee members themselves are excluded).
  • Then all member will vote for 10 photos out of these 20. (Voting link will be sent later.)

Option#2: Pay for your photo and take it home.

Since we don’t have a budget to pay printing & framing fees for all photos, we still give you a chance to Pay for your photo and take it home with you after the exhibition. We will tell you the cost for printing and framing after quantizing the total photos. Cost normally depends on the paper quality and paper size in addition to the framing options.  We will not order printing before informing you with the exact cost and the breakdown. Committee members will go for this option mandatorily.

One last thing, this exhibition will be witnessed by The National Geographic Arabic magazine chief editor who will be visiting us that day. She may select some of exhibition photos for the magazine.

So, Let’s have our best work all polished up and ready to go.
